Acrylic on gessoboard - 9 x 12 in - 2014
I find cacti fascinating and underappreciated plants. This one grows in my back yard in Santa Fe, and I’m intrigued by the varied greens of its pads and the many directions and patterns of its spines.
I created it using acrylic on gessoboard. In order to show the depth of the colors and shadows, I used many thin layers of acrylic paint.
